Southern Downs Steam Railway
Is a Steam Railway a craft? If not, it certainly includes craft (and trades) and on a grand scale
Our wood crafters have given their support in a practical way, helping to restore parts of our rolling stock .
And all of our crafters are happy to support such a wonderful enterprise and the many hardworking volunteers.
(and ..... we're looking forward to a ride!! Which we hear may not be a very long wait)
Warwick station in 1912, a very busy place
Warwick yard in 1907, every line is busy
Notice the water tank at the right of the picture, it was taken away for some years, but Southern Downs Steam Railway volunteers have retrieved it and
restored it to (near) its former position.
Would you like to see a slide show of the
Down's railway history?
